About Us
Mission Statement
We are a pre-school through 12th grade school that develops disciples who are spiritually and academically prepared to impact their world for Christ.
Diversity
More than 26 churches from throughout Northern Dauphin County are represented in the student body at NDCS. Bussing is provided from five area school districts: Halifax, Line Mountain, Millersburg, Upper Dauphin, and Williams Valley.
Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I Corinthians 8:6
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God as recorded in both the Old and New Testaments. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Revelation 22:18-19
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His sacrificial and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return to power and glory. Matthew 1:18; John 3:16-17; I Peter 2:21-24
We believe in the necessity of a personal commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ for salvation of lost and sinful men. Romans 3:21-31
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto everlasting life, and they that are lost to eternal separation from God. Luke 20:27-38; Revelation 20:11-15
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:13
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. John 14:16-17
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. Psalms 139
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. Genesis 1:26-27
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning; the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. Genesis 2:18-25; 1Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Northern Dauphin Christian School as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Northern Dauphin Christian School members and community, it is imperative that all persons employed by (the organization) in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians. 6:9-11
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Northern Dauphin Christian School. Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31
History
It was the vision of several families in 1995 to establish a local, traditional classroom based alternative education program for Christian students. The Northern Dauphin County Christian School Association of parents was formed as the governing body and continues to elect the board of directors and works with the administrator of the school. Northern Dauphin Christian School began with a kindergarten class of four students. The school expanded the following year to include kindergarten through fifth grade.
NDCS has grown greatly since 1995 and now offers an Early Education Center for pre-school students, as well as a full day kindergarten through grade 12 program.
Curriculum
Northern Dauphin Christian School utilizes a variety of curriculum for the grade levels Preschool and K through 12th. Supplemental material are used in areas of special interest: music, art, computer, physical education, library and weekly chapel services. See our page on curriculum for more details.
